See-Mode Tech AI Cleared for Vascular Scans

FDA has cleared a See-Mode Technologies 510(k) for its Augmented Vascular Analysis (AVA), a medical artificial intelligence software for automated analysis and reporting of vascular ultrasound scans. “AVA uses deep learning, text recognition, and signal processing technologies to assist clinicians in interpreting and reporting vascular ultrasound studies — typically a manual and error-prone process,” the company says. It can analyze a full vascular ultrasound scan in less than a minute, it says, adding that this minimizes the need for manual drawings. Startup See-Mode is also developing two other new products — detecting vulnerable plaque using machine learning and identifying high-risk blood flow using computational modeling.
