# Seize Mifepristone Web Site Domains: Groups

Some 56 pro-life and other advocacy groups are urging FDA to seize the Web site domains for AidAccess, Rablon, and any other entities illegally prescribing and/or selling mifepristone in the U.S. “We urge FDA to protect women from the distributors of abortion-inducing drugs who place lives at risk by circumventing your agency’s regulatory standards,” the groups say in a 5/4 [letter](https://www.sba-list.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/AidAccess-Coalition-Letter-FINAL.pdf?ref=fdaweb.com) to FDA commissioner **Stephen Hahn**.

The letter says it has been over a year since the agency sent Warning Letters to AidAccess and Rablon stating that the Web sites violate U.S. law. “Yet these Web sites remain active and continue to dispense abortion-inducing drugs, including mifepristone, through Internet prescriptions or orders that are purportedly filled by pharmacies in India, and then shipped to customers in the United States,” it says. “Their actions brazenly flout FDA-required protections for women using abortion-inducing drugs.”

The groups reference the combination of Mifeprex (or its generic) and misoprostol as the only FDA-approved regimen for drug-induced abortion. Mifeprex is subject to a REMS that requires it to be dispensed only at a healthcare facility.

“We appreciate that FDA is seriously defending the necessary safeguards contained in the Mifeprex REMS in litigation,” the letter concludes. “These safeguards are meaningless, however, if opportunistic entities can sell abortion-inducing drugs over the Internet with impunity. We urge FDA to act now to stop this predatory and dangerous practice.”
