**Avara Pharmaceutical Services** has agreed to acquire an **AstraZeneca** manufacturing and distribution facility in Reims, France. Norwalk, CT-based Avara is a contract manufacturing and technical services organization providing both active pharmaceutical ingredient formulation and manufacturing, along with secondary formulation, manufacturing, packaging and distribution of small molecule drugs, including highly potent compounds.

**Mesa Laboratories** has acquired **Simicon Gmbh** which is located in Munich, Germany. Simicon manufactures both cleaning and biological indicators, which Mesa says will be integrated into its Biological Indicators Division.

Medical device maker **EnteroMedics** is acquiring San Clemente, CA-based **ReShape Medical**. Both companies make devices for obesity and gastrointestinal-related issues. ReShape currently manufactures the Dual Weight Loss Balloon, an intragastric balloon designed for weight loss in obese patients.
