Fresenius has decided to walk away from its planned purchase of Akorn Pharmaceuticals for $4.3 billion after Akorn reportedly failed to “fulfill several closing conditions.” In a statement, Fresenius said there were “material breaches” of data integrity requirements that were supposed to be reported to FDA.

Laborie Medical has completed its acquisition of Cogentix Medical. Under the transaction, Laborie obtains the rights to Urgent PC Neuromodulation System for overactive bladder and Macroplastique Injectable, a soft-tissue bulking agent used to treat female stress urinary incontinence.

Proctor & Gamble has decided to acquire Merck KGaA’s . consumer health unit for $4.2 billion. P&G said the consumer health unit will provide it with strong healthcare commercial and supply capabilities that will complement its existing portfolio, which includes Vicks, Metamucil, Pepto-Bismol, Crest and Oral-B.
