**Merck** **Darmstadt**, Germany, **Pfizer** and **Syndax Pharmaceuticals** have entered into a collaboration agreement to evaluate avelumab, an investigational fully human anti-PD-L1 IgG1 monoclonal antibody, in combination with Syndax’s entinostat, an investigational oral small molecule that targets immune regulatory cells in patients with heavily pre-treated, recurrent ovarian cancer. According to the companies, Syndax will conduct the Phase 1b/2 clinical trial in ovarian cancer.  
  
**Qualcomm** subsidiary, **Qualcomm Life,** and **Novartis** say they are expanding their global connected therapy management collaboration in which Novartis will use Qualcomm Life’s connectivity solutions to power its Breezhaler, an inhaler for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. According to the companies, Qualcomm Life is developing the reference design for the small, low-power, disposable module to connect with Qualcomm Life’s 2net Platform, and can detect and report inhaler usage, and the duration of the patient’s inhalation, which indicates quality of the inhalation.

**Millendo Therapeutics**, a University of Michigan startup company, has signed an exclusive license agreement with **AstraZeneca** for the worldwide development and commercialization rights to test a new compound, MLE4901, for treating polycystic ovary syndrome. The company says it has secured a $62 million Series B investment to perform clinical trials for MLE4901 and expand its testing of the drug ATR-101 in other related adrenal diseases, including Cushing’s syndrome and congenital adrenal hyperplasia.

**CytRx Corp.** has reached an agreement to settle its consolidated stockholder derivative lawsuit, pending in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit Court on appeal from the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. It says the settlement includes no financial or equity compensation, but provides that CytRx will implement certain corporate governance changes and modify certain governance practices, many of which have already been implemented over the past 12 months.

**ANI Pharmaceuticals** has completed the acquisition of the NDAs for purified corticotropin gel and corticotropin zinc hydroxide from **Merck** for $75 million in cash and a percentage of future net sales.
