**Boston Scientific** has agreed to pay $75 million for some of the manufacturing assets and capabilities of **Neovasc**, which makes products for the cardiovascular market, including components for transcatheter heart valves such as Boston Scientific’s Lotus Valve System. Boston Scientific developed Lotus for transcatheter aortic valve replacement in order to treat aortic stenosis, a narrowing of the aortic valve opening.

**Teleflex** and **Vascular Solutions** have entered into a definitive agreement under which Teleflex will acquire Vascular Solutions in a transaction valued at about $1 billion. The combination is expected to accelerate the growth of Teleflex’s vascular and interventional businesses through increased revenue associated with entry into the coronary and peripheral vascular market, as well as increased cross-portfolio selling opportunities to both Teleflex and Vascular Solutions customer bases.

**Sanofi** and **JHL Biotech** have entered into a strategic alliance to collaborate on developing biological therapeutics in China, with potential international expansion. Under the agreement, Sanofi will invest $80 million in newly issued JHL shares, and it will make an upfront payment of $21 million to acquire exclusive rights for the proposed biosimilar of Rituximab and options to certain JHL pipeline products. JHL will lead the development, registration, and manufacturing activities, while Sanofi will lead commercialization efforts in China.

**AbbVie** and **Northwestern University** have signed a five-year collaboration agreement with the goal of advancing research and discovery in oncology. Together, AbbVie and the **Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center** of Northwestern University will work in several areas of oncology research, which in addition to others could include, lung, colorectal, breast, prostate and hematological cancer. The pact provides Lurie Cancer Center scientists with the opportunity to access new therapies developed by AbbVie for preclinical research funded under the agreement.
