Sony Operating Room Imaging Platform Cleared

FDA has cleared a Sony Electronics 510(k) for its Nucleus Operating Room Imaging Management and Collaboration Control platform. The device supports 4K resolution using existing network infrastructures, and it provides operating rooms and clinical spaces with direct access to imaging data from a central dashboard, the company says. It also provides hospitals with a secure, encrypted way to record, archive, distribute and manage surgical video and other types of medical imaging and patient data without requiring network infrastructure upgrades, it adds.
