Spectral Medical Filing Last PMA Module for Sepsis Device

Spectral Medical says it plans to submit in the second quarter the last of four modules for a PMA for Toraymyxin, indicated for treating patients with endotoxemic septic shock. The therapeutic hemoperfusion device is designed to remove endotoxin, which can cause sepsis, from the bloodstream and is guided by the company’s Endotoxin Activity Assay, an FDA-cleared diagnostic for determining the risk of developing sepsis, Spectral Medical says. The last module will contain the clinical study report from the EUPHRATES trial , it says.
