# ‘Superior Response’ in Covid Omicron Booster: Moderna

Moderna says its Omicron-containing bivalent Covid vaccine booster candidate “met all pre-specified endpoints including superior neutralizing antibody response against the Omicron variant one month after administration” when compared to the original Moderna vaccine. A company statement [says](https://investors.modernatx.com/news/news-details/2022/Moderna-Announces-Omicron-Containing-Bivalent-Booster-Candidate-mRNA-1273.214-Demonstrates-Superior-Antibody-Response-Against-Omicron/default.aspx?ref=fdaweb.com) the Omicron booster was generally well-tolerated, with side effects comparable to a booster dose of the original vaccine.

Submissions will be made to regulators in a few weeks, the statement says, with the hope that the Omicron booster will be available for use in the fall.
