Teva sNDA Approved for ArmonAir Digihaler

FDA has approved a Teva Respiratory supplemental NDA for ArmonAir Digihaler (fluticasone propionate) Inhalation Powder, an inhaled corticosteroid delivered by Teva’s Digihaler device for asthma maintenance treatment. The inhaler contains built-in sensors and connects to a companion mobile application that provides information on inhaler use to people with asthma, the company says.

The wireless usage data are sent to a companion mobile app using Bluetooth Wireless Technology so that patients can review their data over time or share it with their healthcare providers, the company says. Patients also can schedule dosage reminders on their smartphones.

Previously, AirDuo was indicated for treating asthma in patients 12 years of age and older.
