Theresa Mullin Retires as CDER Associate Director

After a 28-year career at FDA, CDER associate Center director for strategic initiatives Theresa Mullin has retired. During her tenure, she also served as assistant commissioner for planning, and director of CDER’s Office of Strategic Programs.

In her most recent role, Mullin oversaw areas of strategic interest to external stakeholders. She led the Patient-Focused Drug Development (PFDD) initiative, which includes work related to the FDA Reauthorization Act (FDARA) and implementation of the 21st Century Cures Act. She also led CDER’s International Program.

Mullin received her bachelor’s degree in economics from Boston College, and a PhD in public policy analysis from Carnegie-Mellon University.
