# Thomas Advanced Medical Illegally Selling HCT/Ps: FDA

An FDA review of the Web site operated by Thomas Advanced Medical and other materials indicated that the firm is marketing products derived from either human umbilical cord, umbilical cord blood, or amniotic tissue, which the company refers to as “regenerative therapy solutions” or “stem cell derived biological products.” A 3/1 [Warning Letter](https://www.fda.gov/media/165900/download?ref=fdaweb.com), which redacts the firm’s address, says Thomas markets its products to treat various diseases or conditions, including some that are serious or life-threatening, such as cardiac diseases, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, lung diseases, and diabetes.

The letter also says FDA has learned that the firm has offered its PrimePro umbilical cord-derived product to patients to treat or prevent Covid-19.

FDA says it appears the firm’s products would be regulated as drugs and biological products and cannot legally be sold without an approved BLA or IND in place, neither of which the company has.

Thomas Advanced Medical was told to respond to the Warning Letter within 30 days.
