Torrent Pharmaceuticals FDA-483

FDA has released the form FDA-483 issued following a 9/19-9/28 inspection at Torrent Pharmaceuticals, Indrad, Gujarat, India, a finished product and active pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturer. The three inspection observations were:

equipment and utensils are not cleaned and maintained at appropriate intervals to prevent contamination that would alter the safety, identity, strength, quality, or purity of the drug product;
failing to thoroughly review any unexplained discrepancy and the failure of a batch or any of its components to meet any of its specifications whether or not the batch has been already distributed; and
failing to have written records of a drug complaint to include the findings of the investigation and the follow-up.
