TransMedics PMA Panel Meeting Postponed

FDA has postponed the 4/16 meeting of the Circulatory System Devices Panel of the Medical Devices Advisory Committee due to the coronavirus health emergency. Panel members were scheduled to review a TransMedics PMA for the TransMedics Organ Care System — Heart, a portable ex-vivo organ perfusion and monitoring system indicated for the resuscitation, preservation, and assessment of certain donor hearts (see earlier story).

Because of the coronavirus, FDA says it is canceling or postponing all non-essential meetings through April, and after that, it will reassess for future months. Where possible, it will use technology to host remote meetings.
