# Trevena Files NDA for Olinvo for Pain

Trevena has submitted an NDA for Olinvo (oliceridine injection) for treating pain. Olinvo, the sponsor says, was designed to improve conventional opioid pharmacology to deliver the pain-reducing potential of an opioid but with fewer associated adverse effects due to its biased ligand mechanism of action. The G protein-biased ligand of the [mu opioid receptor](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4014005/?ref=fdaweb.com)’s submission includes data showing analgesic efficacy in all three dosing regimens tested in two Phase 3 APOLLO pivotal efficacy studies.
