# Trump Transition Healthcare Team Shapes Up

President-elect **Donald Trump** has reportedly selected former HHS official **Andrew Bremberg** to lead the transition team for HHS. Bremberg, who worked at the agency under President **George W. Bush**, was more recently a policy advisor to Senate majority leader **Mitch McConnell** and an advisor on Wisconsin governor **Scott Walker**’s presidential campaign. Also reportedly joining the transition team will be Alston & Bird attorney and former HHS official **Paula Stannard**, former vice president **Dick Cheney**’s advisor and former lobbyist **Ado Machida**, and Harvard government lecturer **Carlos Diaz-Rosillo**.

Stannard is reportedly focusing on healthcare reform measures. On a newly created transition team [Web page](https://www.greatagain.gov/policy/healthcare.html?ref=fdaweb.com), Trump transition staff outline healthcare reform priorities, which includes reforming FDA “to put greater focus on the need of patients for new and innovative medical products.” It also says the administration will advance research and development in healthcare. The Web page reiterates that Trump’s top healthcare objective remains his campaign pledge to repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and “replace it with a solution that includes Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), and returns the historic role in regulating health insurance to the states.”
