# UDI Labeling Deadline Extended for Some Class 2 Devices

FDA says it has extended to 9/24/18 the compliance date for Unique Device Identification (UDI) label and Global Unique Device Identification Database submission requirements for certain Class 2 medical devices. An agency [notice](http://www.fda.gov/downloads/MedicalDevices/ResourcesforYou/Industry/UCM519346.pdf?ref=fdaweb.com) says that the affected devices include **(1)** collections of two or more different devices packaged together in which the devices in the package are not individually labeled, and **(2)** repackaged single-use devices. Neither extension applies to implantable, life-supporting, or life-sustaining devices, FDA says.
