United Imaging X-ray System Cleared

FDA has cleared a United Imaging 510(k) for its first interventional X-ray system, uAngio Aviva. The company says the “intuitively bionic ceiling-mounted system” uses intelligent robotics, voice control, vision and imaging to assist clinical staff.

United Imaging describes the eight-axis robotic system as offering flexibility to allow full lab coverage, and “easy tableside access while navigating the complexity of medical equipment in the interventional site.” The device’s imaging technology leverages the company’s proprietary artificial intelligent algorithms to obtain high-quality images at low dose for interventional radiology, neuro interventions, and interventional cardiology procedures.
