# Upcoming CDRH eMDR Enhancements

FDA has published the three 2024 enhancements to CDRH’s electronic medical device reporting (eMDR) system. The [page](https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/emdr-electronic-medical-device-reporting/emdr-system-enhancements?utm%5Fmedium=email&utm%5Fsource=govdelivery) says the FDA eSubmitter client is updated concurrently with the eMDR system, but industry with system-to-system, or AS2, accounts with the FDA electronic submissions gateway should use the enhancement information to plan system updates to align with the eMDR enhancements as soon as possible.

For each cycle of enhancements, the agency says, it will announce upcoming enhancements in June, release the implementation package in August, deploy enhancements to pre-production test in September, and deploy high-impact enhancements to production seven months after the implementation package is released, typically in March of the following year.

The three 2024 enhancements are **(1)** require weight unit if weight is provided, **(2)** require all adverse event codes in initial medical device reports, and **(3)** International Medical Device Regulators Forum 2024 maintenance updates.
