# Varian Gains Clearance for Nexus DR Imaging System

Varian Medical Systems has received 510(k) clearance to market the Nexus DR, a high resolution system for X-ray imaging using a digital X-ray detector. The device is designed to replace conventional film techniques, or existing digital systems, in multipurpose or dedicated applications, according to the company. The single common imaging platform is intended for general radiographic procedures (excluding fluoroscopy, angiography, and mammography). The device comprises an image detector, a computer, a high resolution monitor, and Varian’s proprietary image processing software. It can also be set up to process data from multiple detectors.
