# Ventec Recalls VOCSN Ventilators

Ventec Life Systems has recalled (Class 1) its VOCSN Multi-Function Ventilators because the devices were serviced using incorrect parts which have the potential to cause unexpected shutdown. A [recall notice](https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/cdrh/cfdocs/cfres/res.cfm?id=212111&ref=fdaweb.com) says that using an active circuit with the device could result in inaccurate tidal volume monitor, less inspiratory volume, less inspiratory pressure, and less positive end-expiratory pressure being delivered. The portable ventilators combine five respiratory therapies (ventilation, oxygen, cough, suction, and nebulizer) into one. They are intended to help patients with neuromuscular disease, impaired lung function, spinal cord injury, and pediatric development complications.
