Veru Inc. says it will submit an emergency use authorization (EUA) application in the second quarter of 2022 for its sabizabulin for use in hospitalized moderate-to-severe Covid-19 patients at high risk for acute respiratory distress syndrome. A company [statement](https://finance.yahoo.com/news/fda-states-veru-submit-request-103000648.html?fr=sycsrp%5Fcatchall&ref=fdaweb.com) says a 5/10 pre-EUA conference with FDA resulted in the agency agreeing that efficacy and safety data from a completed Phase 3 clinical study were sufficient to support the EUA application.

The Phase 3 trial was stopped by an independent data monitoring committee for overwhelming efficacy, the company says.
