# VistaPharm Recalls Sucralfate Lot

VistaPharm (Largo, FL) has recalled one lot of sucralfate oral suspension, 1g/10mL, due to *Bacillus cereus* contamination in the product. Microbial contamination can result in disseminated, life-threatening infections, such as endocarditis and necrotizing soft tissue infections, in immunocompromised patients, according to a [recall notice](https://www.fda.gov/safety/recalls-market-withdrawals-safety-alerts/vistapharm-llc-issues-voluntary-nationwide-recall-sucralfate-oral-suspension-1g10ml-due-microbial?utm%5Fmedium=email&utm%5Fsource=govdelivery). To date, VistaPharm has not received any reports of adverse events related to the issue. Sucralfate oral suspension is used as an antiulcer therapeutic.
