Vyaire Medical Recall Twin Tube Lines

Vyaire Medical is recalling (Class 1) its Twin Tube sample lines, which are used on the Vyntus CPX Cardiopulmonary Exercise Test, due to the potential for the nozzle separating during patient use. The tubes connect to the device’s dead volume trap adapter, which allows the continuous collection of gas samples from a test subject’s breath during a cardiopulmonary exercise test.

A recall notice says a separated component may fall into a patient’s mouth resulting in a potential choking hazard, which may lead to an airway obstruction, requiring medical intervention to prevent further injury or harm.

To date, the notice says there have been no reports of injuries or deaths associated with the issue.
