Warning Letter Sent to CBD Marketer Over Covid Claims

FDA has sent For Our Vets (Mesa, AZ) a Warning Letter after reviewing its Web site and social media sites and determined that it offers cannabinoid (CBD) products for sale that are intended to mitigate, prevent, treat, diagnose, or cure Covid-19, making them unapproved drugs. FDA said it was bothered by marketing claims the company was making. In one claim, the company said: “CBD May Play a Role in Helping Lung Symptoms. Cannabis contains several cannabinoids that have anti-inflammatory properties. Specifically, CBD is the most likely possibility for treating Covid-19 related lung inflammation.” The agency told the company to take immediate action to cease the sale of such unapproved and unauthorized products.
