# Web Site Warned on Chloroquinelone Sales

FDA has warned the owners of a Web site operating at chloroquineonline.com that they are offering drug products for sale in the U.S. that are intended to mitigate, prevent, treat, diagnose, or cure Covid-19\. A 5/18 [Warning Letter](https://www.fda.gov/inspections-compliance-enforcement-and-criminal-investigations/warning-letters/chloroquineonlinecom-607725-05182020?ref=fdaweb.com) says such products are legally considered to be unapproved and misbranded new drugs.

“FDA is taking urgent measures to protect consumers from certain products that, without approval or authorization by FDA, claim to mitigate, prevent, treat, diagnose, or cure Covid-19 in people,” the letter says.

The Web site was told to take immediate action to correct the violations. “We advise you to review your Web sites, product labels, and other labeling and promotional materials to ensure that you are not misleadingly representing your products as safe and effective for a Covid-19-related use for which they have not been approved by FDA and that you do not make claims that misbrand the products in violation of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act,” FDA says.
