Wholesale Distributor Verification Enforcement Off till 2023

FDA has announced an additional three-year delay in enforcement of the requirement for wholesale distributors to verify saleable returned product as required under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. A 2019 compliance policy said enforcement of the requirement would be delayed until 11/27/20.

The agency has now published a guidance, Wholesale Distributor Verification Requirement for Saleable Returned Drug Product and Dispenser Verification Requirements When Investigating a Suspect or Illegitimate Product—Compliance Policies, delaying enforcement to 11/27/23. It also delays until 11/27/23 enforcement of a requirement for dispensers to verify the product identifier when investigating suspect or illegitimate product.
