Woodcock to Testify at Senate GDUFA Hearing

The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee has announced a 1/28 hearing on “Generic Drug User Fee Amendments: Accelerating Patient Access to Generic Drugs.” The 10 a.m. hearing will be held in Room 430 in the Dirksen Senate Office Building. CDER director Janet Woodcock is the only witness scheduled to testify so far.

The Generic Drug User Fee Amendments of 2012 were designed to speed patient access to safe and effective generic drugs and reduce costs to industry. It required sponsors to pay user fees to help the agency to reduce the backlog of pending applications, cut the average review times and increase risk-based inspections.
