Workshop Looks at OTC Drug Facts Label

FDA has announced a 6/9 workshop entitled “The Nonprescription Drug Facts Label in a Changing Consumer Marketplace 2021” that will evaluate data and information currently available on consumer comprehension of the nonprescription Drug Facts Label (DFL) and discuss areas where improvements could be made to its format and content. The DFL is intended to enable consumers to self-select and safely use nonprescription drugs. The agency says it is seeking ways to optimize the DFL so that it is adaptable for use with new technologies and compatible with traditional text/paper-based presentations. In addition to providing input at the public meeting, stakeholders are invited to submit research, data or information relevant to the public workshop topics to a public docket.
