# Workshop on Patient-Generated Health Data

FDA is co-sponsoring with the Digital Medicine Society a 6/26-27 public workshop entitled “Using Patient-Generated Health Data in Medical Device Development: Case Examples of Implementation Throughout the Total Product Life Cycle.” The workshop is intended to illustrate how patient-generated health data (PGHD) can promote medical device innovation throughout the total product life cycle.

FDA says that the workshop will permit stakeholders to share their perspectives on how using PGHD can help advance remote clinical trial data collection and support clinical outcome assessments. It further aims to:

- Record patient perspectives to reduce patient burden to inform clinical study design and conduct.
- Improve patient science tools for medical devices and advance health equity by incorporating diverse patient perspectives and integrating data from diverse patients.
