Workshop on Skin Safety Testing with Topical Drugs

FDA has announced a 9/10 public workshop entitled “Human Dermal (Skin) Safety Testing for Topical Drug Products: Regulatory Utility and Evaluation” that is intended to provide a forum to discuss the current state and future directions of the collection of human data on potential skin toxicity associated with such drugs. The workshop will also review current approaches to collecting human data during clinical development. Additionally, it will address the impact of human skin toxicity studies on drug labeling and consider alternative approaches to providing such information.
