Xortx Therapeutics says a meeting with FDA staff put it in a better position to move toward accelerated approval for its Xorlo to treat autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD). A company [statement](https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2023/05/04/2661336/0/en/FDA-Confirms-Eligibility-of-XORLO-for-Accelerated-Approval.html?ref=fdaweb.com) says the meeting was held to discuss details of the accelerated approval process and a clinical trial protocol for a Phase 3 study of Xorlo, Xortx’ proprietary oxypurinol formulation to treat ADPKD.

The company says it will pursue a Special Protocol Assessment with FDA for the Xorlo development program.
