YorLabs Novel Intracardiac Imaging System Cleared

FDA has cleared a YorLabs 510(k) for its new intracardiac imaging system that the company says could reshape workflows in catheterization labs by eliminating the need for costly capital equipment. The platform, which YorLabs describes as the first “zero-CapEx” intracardiac echocardiography (ICE) solution, delivers real-time, high-resolution imaging for electrophysiology and interventional cardiology procedures, the company says. Instead of requiring a dedicated console, the wireless and compact hardware integrates directly into existing cath lab setups, it says. ICE has become an important tool for transseptal access, ablation and structural heart interventions, it adds.
