Zeta Gets Navigation System Improvements Cleared

FDA has cleared a Zeta Surgical 510(k) for its Zeta Navigation System for use with expanded instruments and enhanced hospital connectivity. The device is designed to provide “rapidly deployable, high-accuracy navigation” for neurological interventions currently unsupported by existing navigation systems, according to the company “Its GPS-like guidance system uses mixed reality and advanced motion-aware remote sensing to enable real-time patient tracking,” the company says.

The clearance enables the Zeta system to be deployed with a variety of new accessories and surgical kits. It also allows hospitals to integrate the system’s software into their information technology networks, allowing for “seamless and fast access to patient data,” the company says.
