Panel to Discuss Fluroquinolone Antibacterials

Federal Register Notice: FDA’s Antimicrobial Drugs Advisory Committee (formerly known as the Anti-Infective Drugs Advisory Committee) and the Drug Safety and Risk Management Advisory Committee will meet 11/5, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the FDA White Oak Campus, 10903 New Hampshire Ave., Bldg. 31 Conference Center, the Great Room (Rm. 1503), Silver Spring, MD. The committees will discuss the risks and benefits of the systemic fluoroquinolone antibacterial drugs for treating acute bacterial sinusitis, acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis in patients who have chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and uncomplicated urinary tract infections in the context of available safety information and the treatment effect of antibacterial drugs in these clinical conditions.
