Federal Register Notice: FDA is making available a draft guidance for industry entitled Veterinary Feed Directive Common Format Questions and Answers. On 6/3, the agency published a final rule that revised its veterinary feed directive regulations and it received a few comments requesting that it require a uniform VFD form. FDA declined this request because it thinks it would be too prescriptive, but it acknowledges that a common VFD format would help clients, veterinarians, and distributors (including feed mills) quickly identify relevant information on the VFD and is issuing this draft guidance to recommend a common VFD format.
